Le Tropical Mauritius
The island of Mauritius, situated in the midst of the awe-inspiring
blue of the Indian Ocean, is renowned as a destination for those
wishing to marry on foreign shores or spend their honeymoons on an
island of rare natural beauty. It is rare on Mauritius to find a hotel
resort that caters for families, but Le Tropical Mauritius does this in
style. The hotel is known for it's family friendly atmosphere and range
of activities that keep children entertained while their parents relax.
However, it is impossible to mention the Le Tropical Mauritius
without covering some of the poor customer reviews it has received
online. As with anything, the experience of a holiday is almost
entirely subjective. While there are plenty of glowing reviews,
receiving top marks, about Le Tropical Mauritius, there are also some
damning condemnations of it, too. General complaints seem to be about
standards of cleanliness, though there are many photographs taken by
other guests who enjoyed their stay which seem to disprove the theory.
No hotel is perfect, and Le Tropical Mauritius seems to struggle in
online ratings, where one poor rating can bring down an entire average
due to a generally low level of reviews.
Rarely does a hotel generate such different opinions, with
some people stating that the hotel was the resort of their dreams and
their stay there could not have been better. Other people claim it to
be the worst hotel they have ever stayed in. This trends repeats across
numerous Internet forums and message boards
Should
this put you off Le Tropical Mauritius? Well, the good reviews are
there, some of them glowing in their praise of the hotel, facilities
and staff. Should you find yourself unhappy with the cleanliness of
your room, you are fully within your rights to request it be cleaned as
soon as possible. While it is worth keeping the negative reviews in
mind, you should also bear in mind those who loved their experience of
Le Tropical. As the hotel is a three-star, it is one of the more
affordable on the island of Mauritius and opens up the chance to visit
the island for those on a smaller budget than the average Mauritian
traveler.
There is, after all, plenty this hotel has going for it. Located on the
east coast of the island, many rooms have views out on to the Indian
Ocean. There is an outdoor freshwater pool on site, boutique shopping
and live music from a local band every night. The hotel also runs a
shuttle to the nearby island of Ile aux Cerfs, which is renowned for
it's beauty. There are plenty of family-friendly activities either on
site or close nearby, such as snorkeling, boating, mountain biking and
a nearby base for helicopter tours of the island.
There are 58 rooms currently in use at Le Tropical Mauritius. Each
feature a balcony, air conditioning and come complete with a
complimentary continental breakfast each morning. Prices per night
start at around L200 / $350, which for Mauritius is one of the cheapest
deals available. The island needs to become more accommodating to
travelers who are unable to spend thousands of dollars per night. Le
Tropical Mauritius is a good start.
